STATEMENT

Mis últimos trabajos parten de la música y se desarrollan en forma de instalaciones, esculturas, películas experimentales y dibujos, colaboro habitualmente con músicos y estoy acabando mi primer largometraje basado en la famosa composición musical de Franz Schubert Winterreise.

A nivel conceptual me interesa redescubrir lo conocido o descubrir lo desconocido, ese límite donde fantasía y realidad desaparecen; el precario borde entre la realidad objetiva y la realidad poética. Me interesa la creación de ficciones transtemporales que no remiten a un mundo externo; una representación mental que precisamente elimina las fronteras entre lo real y lo irreal con el fin de provocar una ambigüedad inquietante, un deslizamiento entre dormir y despertar. 

Me sitúo ante la imagen en movimiento, como templo y propongo una lectura anti-tiempo, en el sentido del tiempo de consumo capitalista, realizo un viaje hacia la esencia de la imagen. Reposo, miro y escucho, elevo la capacidad contemplativa y de atención casi a lo abstracto. 

Una investigación en torno al estado presente donde empleo la imagen en movimiento como registro de un breve y transitorio instante en el espacio y en el tiempo.

STATEMENT

My latest work are based on music, and are developed in the form of installations, sculptures, experimental films and drawings. I usually collaborate with musicians and I am finishing my first feature film based on the famous musical composition of Franz Schubert Winterreise.

My art practice is about movement, time and the precarious edge between objective reality and poetic reality. I am especially interested in the creation of transit times that do not refer to an external world; a mental representation that precisely removes the borders between the real and the unreal in order to cause an unsettling ambiguity, a slippage between sleeping and awakening. 

I consider the image in motion as a temple, I propose an anti-time reading, in the sense of capitalism consumption of time, I bring out a journey to the essence of the image. I rest, I look and listen, I raise the capacity of attention nearly to the abstract. 

In a more concrete way I am particularly interested in the way to build the space in the screen, in the shapes and volumes, the physical space, but my ultimate intention is to create a mental space. A simplified space, reduced to the basics of horizontality and verticality. I am specifically interested in the relationship between the machine-like and the living, the interior and the exterior, smoothness and strength, in a process of internal resonance or expanded communication.

The aim is to transform the translational movement in movement of expression, in order to mutate the concept of arrival towards a progressive denial of the interval time. 
The main focus of my research evolves around the idea of how to think time in its fleeting and shimmering evanescence, the use of the video as the record of a brief and transitory moment in space and time.
